Not trying to hate on anybody’s grind, but learn how to solicit business the right way for god’s sake. I can’t handle the amount of men that waltz into my shop and waste away the minutes that I could have spent doing something else.

“Hey are you guys looking for window cleaners” No, definitely not. We get like 5 of you every week and the owners stated they aren’t going to pay someone just to clean out window.

“So Who cleans your windows?” I do actually, because the owners are not interested in paying someone just to clean our window.

“Well can I get your boss’s email or phone number” Sorry, absolutely cannot hand out their personal information per their orders.

“Oh no I don’t want their personal number, just a business number so I can send them a quote for window cleaning” Ok, yeah there is no number for business inquiries because they are not open to them. Like I said, they don’t want to pay someone just to clean one window.

“We’re a super cheap company, some people pay us only $15” the issue is they pay me $16 to do everything, I can promise you they don’t want a window-cleaner because you are the billionth person to ask that since I started working here.

“Well can I get your name so that I can tell them I spoke to you first?” Definitely not, sorry. They already told me to stop sending business inquiries their way.

“Well what days is the owner here?? How can I find them?” I can’t give you their schedule.

“Can you just tell me their name and your name cause it would make it easier for me” No!!!!! I CANNOT GIVE OUT INFORMATION TO STRANGERS

“So what if I leave this quote and pamphlet here?” The owners do not visit this location, you can leave it but it’s just going to sit on a desk collecting dust.

“Well can you show it to them?” NOOOOO THEY ARE NOT OPEN TO BUSINESS INQUIRIES AND THEY ALREADY TOLD ME TO STOP SENDING THEM WINDOW CLEANERS

(None of them give a proper greeting, they just berate you with their sales pitch and take up all your free time, then act salty when you don’t want to cough up private information. Some of these guys want to waltz in and spend 20 whole minutes pitching their window-cleaning service to me and they haven’t even said hi to me.

Mick somehow convinced his older grandson to come to the public pool with Hannah and him. The only reason Jacob gave in was probably to stop his family from constantly bugging him with how he should leave the house more, how he can’t just sit in his room all the time, how he needs to meet up with some people of his age and so on and so on.

Just that there were no other teens at the pool, and Jacob was actually relieved about it. The last thing he wanted his classmates to see was him hanging around with his hippie grandpa and his crazy little sister in his free time.

Still at first Jacob didn’t want to actually go swimming, so there just was some awkard silence, before Mick decided to seize the opportunity to give Jacob some life lessons (which were mostly about how he should take things easy and not worry that much about everything and especially not about his dad’s rants). Jacob loves his grandpa, and feels way more at ease with him than with his dad, and actually feels quite grateful for his support, but still the whole situation was rather embarrassing.

After this conversation, they finally decided to join Hannah in the pool, but while she and Mick were enjoying themselves and had fun chatting with some other visitors, Jacob felt increasingly uncomfortable. He headed to the bathrooms and cried under the shower, and wasn’t able to fully figure out why. He didn’t want Mick and Hannah to notice he wasn’t doing well, so he sneaked over to the desolate basketball court and did some throws, just to distract himself.

But then something unexpected happened.

But he didn’t recognise Elita-1 when he met her....? “Who is that bot, are they crazy?” or something similar is what he says about her when they meet on the train. I don’t have the movie itself or a script to hand so I'm going off of my memory, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t say anything to suggest they’ve met before.

This is what he says (again, according to my memory, so apologies for any mistakes) about the new shift manager: "We have limited access to the waste management area but the new shift manager there does NOT like distractions. No... No, they prefer we stay here, on the task at hand."

If he had left his work area recently enough to have "met" Elita (even from afar/without speaking to her), he surely should have recognised her on the train, right...? Elita also does not recognise B-127. I'm positive she would have remembered him if they had met and spoken before that point, considering how overly talkative he is - and the way she dismisses him when he introduces himself. If she'd been through that with him before, she wouldn't have been shy about letting him (and the audience!) know, I'm sure.

Whether the new shift manager is actually Elita-1 or not is unknown because she's reassigned to "waste management" (i.e. managing waste). It doesn't necessarily mean she is a manager there, and we also see her alongside other workers loading crates. Is that manager behaviour...? Besides, it makes sense any shift manager in that place would "not like distractions" because one slip-up could bring the Quintessons down on them. The workers there are unknowingly loading those trains with energon (not toxic waste). Even if the shift manager isn't privy to that information, they're probably under pressure from somewhere above to run a tight ship because it would be disastrous if the wrong crates were loaded onto those trains.

As for B-127, I think it's more likely he has overheard somebody else outside of his work area refer to a new shift manager (and the fact they don't like distractions/prefer bots to stay on the task at hand). That could have been as recently as Elita's demotion, or days or weeks ago. For all we know, the shift management position could have a high turnover rate on account of what is actually going on down there. The less bots who know about the energon/toxic waste switch-up, the better for Sentinel, surely.

Anyway, we know Bee didn't speak to anybody because he is pretty clear about his situation: "I just haven't had a lot of company since they put me down here in sublevel 50...", and he states, "sometime between a long time and forever" when Orion asks him how long he has been down there.

My guess is the most company he gets is leaving his designated work station (taking advantage of the "limited access" he has to the waste management area beyond his post), hoping he'll be able to speak to somebody else, only to be immediately redirected.

His emphasis on the "does NOT like distractions" is what is most interesting to me though. Because best case scenario, he's heard those exact words from a couple of bots he's eavesdropped on (desperate for company, but not actually able to participate in the conversation...) and is just regurgitating them verbatim for D-16 and Orion to make it sound like he's clued-in and knowledgeable, or worst case scenario he's had a bad experience at the hands of the "new" shift manager (one who predates Elita's arrival, whether as a worker or a replacement manager depending on what you believe), so he knows through personal experience just how much they do not like distractions, and this is his subtle, light-hearted way of communicating that...

Or it could just be a writing inconsistency, I guess! Maybe a scene got cut, and Bee had met Elita-1 down in the waste management area in a prior draft but they removed the necessary scene and kept that line about the "new shift manager" in anyway.

Otherwise, “new shift manager” is maybe just meant to tell us bots down there don’t last very long and the last one had to be replaced for some reason... Knowing more than they should, perhaps...?

Transformers One (mostly Bumblebee) things I can't stop thinking about.

During the film's opening when Orion Pax falls into a room and onto a table full of energon, he bundles a load of it into his arms and is eating as much as he can until he drops it all and has to keep fleeing.

He's starving. The miners are being underfed as well as overworked.

Additionally, we see Bumblebee has three rations on his person when he offers one up to wake Alpha Trion. This might suggest he's keeping these rations for when he'll need them rather than being able to comfortably feed himself. For the miners it's a scarce resource they have to be careful with, and yet the transformers on the higher levels are enjoying it in abundance.

This is an interesting line - if it was a nothing line meant to reflect compassion/empathy, he could have urged Sentinel to stop, or implored the 'bots next to him to take notice and do something. There were other ways to demonstrate "Bumblebee is kind and doesn't want his friend to get hurt."

But he doesn't look to authority or anyone else around him for help on D-16's behalf.

He instead instructs D-16 on how to behave to get the abuse to stop.

Which suggests to me this is learned behaviour, and he's giving advice based on previous experience. He's learned that taking the punishment and letting it happen gets the perpetrator to eventually stop, but resisting and fighting against them keeps it going.

That he was reassigned continually right down into sub-level 50 would tell me he's had more than his fair share of annoying a bigger 'bot enough to get himself knocked around once or twice. And very likely, nobody witnessing the abuse helped him, and/or the authority in the room was the one perpetrating the abuse anyway, so of course they weren't going to step in and help.

The only way out for him has always been to just take it :( So he assumes this will be the quickest/least painful way out for D-16, too.

Bumblebee is as much of a nerd as Orion is.

He knows about the High Guard (and is very excited to recite what he knows about them), he recognises the Primes as soon as they come across them in the cave, he watches the broadcast Orion locates inside Steve's head with interest... It's very subtly done, but I think this is the main shared trait between Orion and Bee. I wish we had seen more of Bumblebee trying to talk to Orion about this shared interest, but I get the main relationship they wanted to portray was that between Orion and D-16 (and really enjoyed that regardless!)

Bumblebee knows how to leave sub-level 50, yet he still goes back to his post, and doesn't appear to be using this escape-time to socialise with anyone else on the other floors he can access since he is so very clearly starved of social contact.

I'm not crying, okay, I'm just imagining this poor little guy sitting out of view watching the other cogless 'bots come and go, knowing he could get into more trouble and be even more isolated if he announces his presence and gets himself caught.

Also his "limited access" to the waste management area, and that thing he says about the main one in charge there preferring that he stays on task and really not liking any distractions... Ugh.

Bumblebee is purposely isolated in that room and there's apparently enough of a deterrent to keep him in it that he is forced to make imaginary friends out of trash to talk to instead.

Stealth doesn’t help the trans community. I'm not saying we have to be an activist, wear a t-shirt announcing our trans status, but we have an obligation to help advance the human rights of the trans community we belong to

These viewpoints, while I can appreciate them, tend not to recognize the full scope of why people are stealth in the first place.

If stealth is not right for you, don't be stealth. However, not recognizing the nuances of stealth doesn't help trans people either. You can be an advocate for trans people without being out because you don't need to be out to help the trans community. Additionally, nobody is obligated to know one's trans status. I'm pretty stealth in my real life because I owe nobody that information about my identity. And I do my best to make trans folks one of my primary interests in my life. These two things coexist in my life, and that's why these viewpoints are generally confusing to me. You don't need to be out - or let anybody know about your transness - in order to advance trans rights. Hell, you don't even need to be trans to do that.

Nobody should ever be obligated to be stealth. The expectation that trans people fade away in society is wholly asinine. However, that doesn't mean that stealth inherently is problematic. Stealth is not inherently adverse to trans rights.

His conclusion made sense given he probably never encountered an albino human like her before. Rose was rather special in that regard. Then again something about this bothered her. "I'm not so sure about that though." she shrugged slightly. "As far as I know, my mutation doesn't really affect my blood. I mean as far as I can tell, it's just like anybody else's. Maybe..hm.." Rose thought about it for a moment. There was something else that came to mind. "I'm not sure, but maybe it has to do with my father? My mother was human, but I don't know anything about him. She always refused to talk about it." Sometimes she thought about who her father might have been. Where he went, why he left and why her mother refused to even mention him. Usually these thoughts never really went anywhere. It was not like she'd ever get any answers after all. She always assumed he was human. Then again, how could she know? "Are there any beings who's blood doesn't affect you?" she asked.

"You mentioned earlier that my blood doesn't have an affect on you. I ate food with me. Do higher vampires not..need blood for nourishment?" she asked. She knew this must be kind of a touchy subject, so she was careful how to word it. Rose had of course known about vampires like katakan's and such and those indeed required blood to live. Regis didn't seem to need it as far as she could tell and it made her curious.

The herbalist observed his reaction carefully, hoping not to hit any nerves. It was probably a question he heard before, altough probably not quite as direct.

As much as I appreciate and admire my family's religion because it brings them comfort and strength, there really isn't anything else like being told to youtube search for videos about atheists going to hell and then coming back to life, and knowing that, functionally, you are the same as an atheist because you aren't xtian to them. Sonic actually got upset with anyone in the comics who referred to him as either Ogilvie or Mautrice, this included his own Comic dad so even if it was canon then it wouldn't mean anything.

(If it was canon then it would just be like how Tails is really named Miles, it never comes up so it legit wouldn't matter (I do want at least one person in canon to call Tails Miles, I want to know how he canonically reacts to it))

the name olgilvie was never actually used in the comics though? his middle name being maurice is mentioned a couple times but his first name from before he started going by sonic was always left unknown. the idea of his first name being olgilvie just comes from ken penders saying that he wanted to make that sonics name. but this was never actually brought up in the comics, it wasnt mentioned by any of the characters and it wasnt on any of sonics character profiles either. other writers for the comic have even said that sonics name ISNT olgilvie. so acting like its canon is just. idk. are we really gonna accept everything ken penders says he would have done with sonic as canon regardless of if its actually mentioned in the comics or not? because thats a terrible idea

also regarding tails's full name: he hates the name miles in aosth. but he doesnt seem to have a problem with it in other continuities, i can think of a couple times hes used it himself or other characters have called him that and he wasnt upset by it or anything
